The Enchanting Wiltshire Hobbit Hole

Dare to do something completely different and spend a night in the Hobbit Hole in Wiltshire – the perfect place to lay your head if you are planning on a visit to the famous Stonehenge, or Longleat Safari Park, which are right on the doorstep.

The Hobbit Hole is quirky and cute – conjuring up visions of those halflings who inhabited their underground dwellings in Middle-Earth in JRR Tolkien’s classic tale of the Lord of the Rings. At our Hobbit Hole at Brades Acre Touring Park, however, you won’t have to spend the night underground, nor will you have to be half the height of the average adult to fit into our enchanting little holiday pod. Complete with one large bed or two singles and an electric socket for phone charging etc, heater, and a seating area in the entrance. Just remember to pack your own bedding!

The Hobbit Hole is tucked away in Brades Acre, a family-run camp site with great amenities in the village of Tilshead in the heart of Salisbury Plain, ideally located for touring the West Country.

To find out about availability and book this fairy-tale hideaway, which costs only £40 a night, email to bradesacre@hotmail.co.uk or call 01980 620402.

Exploring the area around the Hobbit Hole

When you come to stay in the Hobbit Hole you’ll be well advised to emulate the most famous Hobbit of all, Frodo Baggins, and head off on a quest. Your quest will be more pleasant than Frodo’s dangerous one, however, as you explore the many attractions of the local area.

You can start close by in the neighbouring village of Tilshead, which has a friendly pub serving tasty Italian cuisine, and a petrol station where you can fill up to travel further afield.

Only a few miles from The Hobbit Hole is the city of Salisbury with its iconic Cathedral, while in the other direction you’ll discover the city of Bath, an architectural and historical hub with plenty to see and do. The awe-inspiring ancient Stonehenge monument is just a stone’s throw away from the Hobbit Hole, as is the stately home of Longleat with its exciting animal park.

When you stay at The Hobbit Hole your hosts will be delighted to point you in the direction of everything the area has to offer.
