Tucked into the wide-open heart of Salisbury Plain, Brades Acre has been welcoming campers, caravanners and campervanners for years and it’s our guests who tell that story best.

Time and again, visitors come back to the same words: spotless, peaceful, and run by people who genuinely care. Whether you’re pitching up for one night on the way to Stonehenge or settling in for a week with the family, dog in tow, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting.

Here’s a selection of our latest reviews from Tripadvisor and ukcampsite.co.uk, real words from real guests, gathered from across the year

"Lovely campsite near Tilshead, Wiltshire. Stayed there to go to the Solstice 2026. Great pitches - flat, level ground to pitch up on (seriously, you wouldn't believe how many campsites get this wrong!). Also great facilities, showers, toilets, kitchen, launderette - all clean and well appointed. The area has no phine service, so, initually, they let me go on their Wi-fi to look for and phone a cab to Salisbury, but then called a cab owner they knew and got me a quick cab at a good price, and we sat and had a good old chinwag til the cab arrived! Really lovely people ans so welcoming. I heartily reccomend a stay at Brades Acre, especially for the Solstice! "

"This is our second visit to this cute, spotlessly maintained campsite. We last visited in January ( it is open practically all year! ) We had a hardsranding pitch with electric on both occasions. It backs onto open fields and was great for the dog. There were campers in the grassy areas this time and a group of friends who were in old military tents and vehicles! Very close to the tank runs on Salisbury Plain and only 10 minutes from Stonehenge! They had some pods and little chalets for hire there too( including The Hobbit Hole) There were also some cute chainsaw carvings that had been lovingly painted. The best was a giant cockerel!"

"We stayed overnight in our “new” T2 Campervan and had the most relaxing time. The owners were so helpful and friendly and the facilities were excellent! Great walks with our dog and the best way to spend a short getaway. Will be back for sure."

"A great campsite, even over May half term it wasn’t full, so there was a choice of pitches. The facilities were clean and modern and the showers cost 50p but were worth it as the water was hot, you could adjust the height of the shower head and there was no button to keep pressing! There was a washing machine and tumble dryer in the washing up area along with a microwave and kettle if you wanted to use them. There was a lovely dog walk from the site which within 5 mins took you to some woods where you could walk for miles. A great base for touring the area but particularly close to Stonehenge and Avebury. Good value camping, highly recommended."

"Excellent campsite near Tilshead. Lovely pitches with flat level grass. Toilets, showers, kitchen, laundry - all spotlessly clean and well appointed. What raises Brades Acre above the usual campsite is the great service from the lovely owners. When it was time to go they called a friend who runs a xab service and got me quick effective service for a good price, then invited me to sit and have a good old chinwag with them until the cab arrived. Would 100% recommend!"

"A clean, quiet campsite. 50 p to use the showers. This gives you long enough for a lovely hot shower. Not noisy in spite of being next to the road."

"What a delightful gem of a site! Impeccably maintained, it’s clear that great care goes into keeping everything in pristine condition. I couldn’t find a single fault during my stay. The surrounding walks are simply wonderful, offering a perfect way to enjoy the area. At just £25, including electricity, it’s incredible value for money – you truly couldn’t ask for more. While the showers do come at a small extra cost, it’s hardly a concern given the overall experience. Highly recommended!"

"Lovely camping spot, we received a very warm welcome despite arriving without having booked in advance. Upon recommendation of Adam (lovely chap), we walked to the Rose & Crown and had pizza and a Bulmers. Beautiful sunrise (says my boyfriend, I was still asleep) and 5min away from Stonehenge. Highly recommend!"

"Beautiful location, peaceful and quiet. The owner is a super friendly and hardworking worker as she inherited the place from her parents. The facilities there are super convenient and comfortable to use as well. There is also a short walk for guests to take a walk with their pets, overseeing the fields."

"Wow, what a great place. Super nice operator. Also speaks German. Everything you need is there. There is shopping nearby in the form of a gas station shop. Pizzeria rarely open. But as a self-catering person, no problem. Sanitary facility simple but super clean. If we come to this area again, we'll come back here!"

"Stayed one night on our way to the ferry. Fantastic site, spotless facilities. Lovely gravelled large pitch within a lovely whimsical environment. A warm welcome from Jackie, who showed us around the facilities. Also showed us a short cut through the lovely lanes, behind the village to the local garage/ small supermarket. Bus stop outside or a short drive to Stonehenge. Would definitely stay again. And recommend to friends and family."

"We had a friendly welcome on arrival. Good size pitches you can see by photo attached. Good clean showers and toilets all the time. Having a camp fire at night while listening to the owls talking to each other what more can you ask for. Stonehenge is just about 10 min drive. Longleat is only 35 mins away and its a lovely drive there."

"Recently stayed here during a ride of the king Alfred's way. The owner was brilliant, very helpful and friendly and happy to give some info about the local area. The site was fantastic, very clean, with modern facilities and the whole site was in lovely condition. We stayed in a small backpacking tent and the cost was just £15."

"What an absolute gem of a site. We arrived to a warm welcome from Jackie and set up on a flat, spacious and tidy pitch. The site is beautiful, and very well looked after and the facilities are some of the cleanest we have seen. You pay 50p for the shower however this is not a problem as the showers are spotless and consistently hot… Unlike some sites, the rules are relaxed (within reason) which means you can enjoy your holiday the way you want to. This meant that everyone staying on the site was respectful of each other and the facilities…We will definitely be returning to Brades Acre, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday with great company, this is the place for you.”

"A place you can feel at home. Every facility you need and so very clean and tidy. The owners are lovely people who cannot do enough for you but never intrude at the same time. Many campsites have so many rules and regulations, but apart from the sensible ones this site is NOT like that, so you also have freedom here. Fabulous dog walks close to Stonehenge and the lovely town of Devizes is a few miles away. It also has other forms of accommodation here for maybe those who do not enjoy the camping experience. My favourite of these is the Hobbit Hut which is charged at a very reasonable price. Quite magical! There is an Italian pub/restaurant in the village about three minutes walk away. Definitely a site we will return to, over and over again."

"Fantastic site. First-time visitor but will certainly not be the last. The owners went out of their way to make sure our weekend was enjoyable. lovely walks to some woods with rope swings and superb facilities made our weekend one to remember. The site has hard standings, electric hook-ups new paths etc. and the fees are very reasonable."

"Still my favourite site of all. Feel so comfortable here as everything is perfect, especially the owners who make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble. The campers themselves here seem more friendly than on most sites we visit, and it is great for our dog with a fabulous walk up the footpath by the site. We did go the pub in the village which is now more of a restaurant (Italian). There are other sorts of indoor accommodation here as well for those not keen on camping and I was enchanted by their Hobbit Hut, so may be tempted to leave the van next time and stay there as a very reasonable price."
